Welcome and thank you for attention. I am Mel Albiso, your current President of the Colton School Board of Education.

When you elected me to the Colton School Board four years ago, I promised and established the following priorities:

- GET THE NEW HIGH SCHOOL ON TRACK AND BUILT
- IMPROVE SCHOOL SAFETY
- IMPROVE TEST SCORES
- IMPROVE DISTRICT LEADERSHIP OR REPLACE LEADERSHIP
- STOP DEFICIT SPENDING AND BALANCE THE BUDGET

* OUR NEW HIGH SCHOOL IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION, ON TRACK AND ON BUDGET
* OUR SCHOOL SAFETY PROGRAM HAS BEEN ENHANCED AND SECOND TO NONE
* OUR SCHOOL TEST SCORES HAVE GONE UP STEADILY FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS
* ALL TOP LEADERSHIP HAS BEEN REPLACED AND IMPROVED
* WE HAVE MAINTAINED A BALANCED BUDGET FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS

- COMPLETE NEW MATH AND SCIENCE CLASSROOMS AND CAFETERIAS AT BOTH
- INSURE OUR TAX DOLLARS GO DIRECTLY TO SUPPORT STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT AND OUR
  CLASSROOMS
- OPERATE WITHIN OUR BUDGET AND MAKE HARD DECISIONS NEEDED TO KEEP OUR BUDGET
  BALANCED
- EXPAND COLLEGE AND VOCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL STUDENTS

My wife and I were born and educated in Colton and both attended Colton schools. We chose to raise and educate our daughter here and we are now helping raise and educate our two grand children in Colton schools. We believe in the Colton School District.
